Hello Forum,

Greetings.
It's music to my ears to see people getting their visa granted after the long wait.Congratulations guys.

I had deposited my and my partner's visa fees on 5th January 2017 for visa 189 under accountant (general) after receiving the invitation in December 2017.Since then I have completed all the requirements of PCC and Health of me and my spouse. In March 2018, we were blessed with a baby boy and we added his details also in our application and we received his HAP ID on 28th June 2018 ,for which the medical was done and cleared.

The CO visited my work place on 8th August 2018 and verified my work experience.Since then I have been praying and waiting hard.

Its been close to 9 months since I had filed my visa application and in total 2 years of hardwork to get all assessment done and reach this stage. My agent tells me to wait as there has been no update.

Can anyone having similar knowledge show me some light as to when can I expect a decision?
I am stuck badly in the dark where I am not being able to take my life decisions cause of the outcome. All I think each day is about my visa grant.

Please help.

Just for the sake of knowing, are you located onshore? And have heard from other members that they received their grants, soon after the employment verification. It's kind of the last step in the process.

Waiting is all what we can do. Your processing time has not crossed the general processing time mentioned by DIBP, which is 9-14 months.

Was in the same situation till this past Tuesday. i understand your agony pretty well, and the only advice is to hold on for a bit more. I know that preaching is far easier than practicing, but am asking a lot from you. Be strong, and immerse yourself in some kind of hobby for a while, (other than drinking and weed ;)) It'll help in taking the mind off the case for at least, a while.

Wish you all the very best, and be ready for a grant and all the joy it brings with it. (since I believe it's around the corner for you.)

Thanks for the reply brother.Means alot.
Heartiest congratulations for getting the grant.

I am taking care of finance and accounts in a business firm. That was where they did the verification check.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

In Delhi, India. That's what I just said..not in Australia
It was your current job or some old job? As it is very rare for CO to go and personally check the employment status

I guess @angadsaluja meant someone from DHA/AHC, not CO himself.

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
