I got my visa medical done last week along with my wife and a son, I am wondering my sons’s status is like that (Examinations ready for assessment – no action required
The required health examinations have been completed and submitted by the panel clinic to the department. This person's case will be processed or referred to the department's migration medical services provider, Bupa Medical Visa Services, for further assessment) whereas my status and my wife’s status is bit different (health clearance provided - no action required ) What does that mean? A bit worried about my son’s status

Means your son's case is referred for further assessment which is normal in few cases as this happens when some report is not clear to the initial medical officer (usually for infants/kids or old age candidates) which they need to confirm and verify with BUPA. So no worries as after further assessment, they will clear the medical if (hopefully) no medical issue is found which is critical to DHA and the status will be updated

This is my 3 years old son visa medical assessment result due to his speech delay issue what I felt because we speaks two languages and he got confused didn’t talk much with medial doctor during the test. My question is can they refuse our visa on this kind of medical issue ? Or they want to check further ? If want to check how it’s gonna be like ?

Examinations assessed but further information required
A Medical Officer has determined that additional health information is required to determine whether this person meets the health requirement for the visa subclass specified. Further information will be provided by the department or the department's migration medical service provider, Bupa Medical Visa Services. Do not contact the department about health examinations in the meantime.

I don't think speech issue can cause any trouble. The only thing which bothers is those disease which either burdens the Australian health department or can cause trouble to other Australians (HIV etc). So don't worry, let's see what other medical tests they refer

Hi! Just wanted to know what to do if status on Health assessment says "A Medical Officer has determined that additional health information is required to determine whether this person meets the health requirement for the visa subclass specified. Further information will be provided by the department or the department's migration medical service provider, Bupa Medical Visa Services. Do not contact the department about health examinations in the meantime."

Do I need to wait for them to tell what needs to be done or just go for medicals again?
Pls can you tell what's the next step?

Just wait, hopefully it will convert into approved status or they may contact your asking for additional tests. Nothing to be done at this time

Your doctor should contact you explaining the results and the next steps. I also received details on what to do via the email address registered with my E-medical account (check your junk folder).

Hi, just want to ask what happened to your application now? Did they ask you for further tests? I am having the same issue. Thanks.

Hi April,

"Examinations ready for assessment - no action required" - means the results and doctor's report have been sent by your doctor back to the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (usually for final signoff) and should normally get approval within a few days.

"Examinations assessed but further information required" - means your doctor may be in touch to discuss your results with you.

I had the second one and had to conduct extra tests as one of the tests had highlighted an anomaly. Thankfully they came up all clear and my application went through without any further delay. To be honest, before I knew the result I was just glad the screening was so thorough and had spotted something as it's better knowing about these things early if there's something there.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I had the second one too. The gp called you or is it via email? I have not heard anything yet from the gp who did the exam. What kind of screening your son went through?

Thanks for the infos.

Yes, well I got an email via the e-Medical site so I called up the doctor's surgery and they called back with more details. For me personally they were concerned about something on the X-ray, so they recommended some additional tests I should undertake to rule out things like TB.

Thanks for your reply. I am a bit confused cause a child does not need any xray. When we did our medical, the gp was concerned that my son is not talking to him but at home, my son is talkative and to those he know. I have no idea why my son medical result is like that. Anyway, thanks for your reply. I will be waiting for my son further info then.

@syed110 I am in the same situation, and I am so worried about the message. Can I know what had happened to your case?
