I can see my occupation ( ANZSCO - 232414 - Web Designer ) is listed under STSOL.

However, I didn't find anyone over any forums who is migrated to Australia with this occupation. If anyone can guide or suggest something useful because agents talk only lucrative things which are away from reality.

I am planning to move under Skilled Nominated visa ( subclass 190 ).

I can claim 80/85 points for 190/489 respectively, which I think should bargain a invitation for me ( Age 26, Graduate, 5years of countable experience, 79+ in PTE, State Nomination )

You do not necessarily need someone in your occupation to guide you. You should just follow the general guideline and check the corresponding state's website if your skill has any special requirement.

Thanks MysticRiver for replying

Currently, NT and SA are nominating in my occupation for 489 and only SA for 190 with special conditions of "high points 80+".

On other hand I don't see any web designer jobs in NT. Hardly one or two job posting on various jobs portal.

Moreover, I didn't find any relevant data regarding my occupation, as I can see of other occupations. So what is probability and real facts behind my occupation.

Agents only give lucrative info, no real data without starting process with them and for this obviously they want to suck some good amount.

Actually, it's very tough to get real data for state nomination because the states do not reveal any data.

Well, could you guide in selecting states as per visa class, like if I get 190 visa in NT and 489 in SA, then which one will be better to choose.

  • As I consider SA at first place if 489 and 190 have same benefits.
  • Like in job market companies will consider me Australian resident with my 489 visa.
  • Is there any other difference in both class except 4 year term of 489?
  • is medicare and education free as on 189/190 visa?
  • which benefits of Australian PR I will not get on 489 as I can get those on 190?

    Awaiting your suggestion, Thanks

I don't know about job situation in your field, but 190 is always better than 489 because 190 is a permanent visa.

Yes, MysticRiver, 190 is better, so there is no wisdom in coming with family on a 489 visa, as many facilities are not entitled to this category of visa.

I will wait for 190 opening in SA, ACT, VIC & NSW, otherwise its better to be here in my homeland.

However, NT has 190 option for my occupation, but I have no idea about NT , none of my friend or known residing their. And its more costly then other states with low job availability in my occupation, also require higher funds.

Any suggestion is heartily welcomed

Thanks

I would suggest that you seriously consider where you would be willing to live and work productively, not just where it is possible to get a visa for!
The purpose of state sponsorship/nomination is to attract and retain skilled workers required by the state economy, who are committed to staying for a reasonable length of time :)

Hello SJR, I am inclined toward SA, living in Adelaide suburbs is at my top choice and and there is lot of things to do for me and my spouse as well.

However, ACT, NSW & VIC are also on list. I would like to live and work in these states. Any of them offers me sponsorship then I am gonna spend rest of my life living and working there, there is no wisdom in resettling after each 3-4 years in different states.

I'm glad to hear you have thought about it! I sometimes get a feeling that some people dont care and just want the invite - rather than wanting to commit and contribute to the state that supports them :-(
Personally, VIC and NSW are on my target list so I am hoping they want me :)

So my doubt is Does bachelors in computer science count as relavent degree for web designer?

It would depend on your course content.

probably yes, as almost 70% content is relevant to web designing including graphics, coding, styling, database, basic PHP, web architecture, internet protocols, and web security etc.

They will not consider it highly relevant and deduct 3 years of experience for assessment in my case.

Can't say anything hearing this, they do whatever they want to do, it's their business, not social service. Four childhood friends done the same study from the same university worked in the same company and they rejected the one saying that your university is not recognised and to the second they said that, the content of the course is not relevant. Luckily 2 got their grants in 6 months.

That's good news that they deducted only 3 years and you had enough years for that but the guy was having 4 years only and 3 were deducted then the points fall short for ITA
