CO Response after requested information provided

CO has asked for documents which I have provided within no time. Its been around 35 days since I am waiting for my CO response. Shall I wait for exact 6 weeks which is stipulated time frame for CO to respond(as mentioned in auto E-mail) or call/Email them for their response.

Please advise.

CO/DIBP usually response only if they need something extra, or with a decision of visa application. If your documents are satisfactory, they won't contact you unless your decision is made, most likely.

So.can it even take more than 6 weeks after requesting for additional information, to take the final decision...

I have seen even a year in the past ... But the timeline improved a lot in recent times, but still you can't guess about it.

Its very strange if it will take around a year even after CO has contacted for additional info...

I believe it should not take.more than 3 months in a worst case scenario.. Especially considering the recent past track record...

As @MysticRiver said, it was an exemplary situation that it can take upto a year too. But with recent analysis. It shouldn't. Do not worry. You will get it soon. Please also update your timelines after clicking the below link.
