Hello there, I have a couple of doubts.

262113 - Systems administrator, I want to have my assessment with ACS.

I have a Non It bachelor degree (Business Administration) and have 16 years of experience on this job role (262113 - Systems administrator).

1 - I will need Assess my Bachelor in Business Administration with Vetassess and proceed with a RPL with ACS, correct? Can I get 15 points with this?

2 - As I have 16 years of experience, if they deduct 6 years from my non IT bachelor, I still have 10 years, so will I be able to get 15 points from experience as well?

I am thinking to get 30 points (Qualification + Experience). Let my know I am correct.

Thanks,
Daniel.

1. You don't need vetassess for ACS assessment. For claiming points, you need your bachelor to be of "recognised standard". If you are unsure of that (or ACS advises you), you can go with vetassess assessment. There are cases where people claimed 15 points without vetassess assessment.

2. Yes, if your experiences are relevant to your nominated occupation.

Hello MysticRiver, thanks a lot for your quick reply.

How do I check if my bachelor come "from another educational institution that is of a recognised standard" is there a list to validate or something like that?

Thanks for your help again.
Daniel.

In my personal experience and observation, if you have studied your bachelors from a well known university, they will accept it and give you 15 points. Otherwise they might advice you for vetassess.

Hi Rakhshanda,

I got my vetassess assesment for australian immigration but can i use the same assessment for NZ immigration also? since my ANZSCO code is the same for both countries.
I am not really sure if they have the same assessing authority I guess you can not.

You guys are awesome, I have been reading many threads you helping some many people.

My doubt now is if should I proceed with RPL directly or not, cause I have like a High School with technical subjects, such as operational systems (learned Novell OS, Windows NT), programming (delphi, C++), peripherals (hw), microprocessors, and to finish my course I had to have an internship that was 6 months. There I got assessed to start working on IT area. This high school (technical) I started with 15 years old and finished with 19 years old. (7 semesters + internship) to get the diploma.

In addition to this, I have many certifications, MCSE 2003 (legacy) but at the date I learned was not legacy they should at least access me, I got certified on Citrix, VMware and also I have post graduate on Project Management - PMI It was few years ago (duration 1 year). PMI has also closely related subjects.

I don't want them to give me many extra points to my education, I just want them to access my experience without a RPL, this path seems to be boring. I have 16 years experience on same area on 4 companies.

After that I will assess my Business Administration degree to get 15 points, if requested, as per @MysticRiver this should not be necessary, will see. @Rakshanda thanks for your information on last question.

What do you guys think? can they consider my high school (technical course)? I just want to avoid the RPL, and have 15 points for experience.

"An award or qualification recognised by the relevant assessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation."

Thanks,
Daniel.

12 years of studies are not equavalant to AQF degree, hence you might lose your experience points without an RPL. But as you mentioned you have got technical certifications in tact so I believe you MIGHT be able to get those points. It all depends on how ACS assess your experience with all those certificates. My suggestion is still with RPL since I did myself and its not much boring, its easier than you think, also its more efficient for people having NON ICT degree's. So my suggestion would be not to take any chances for skill assessment.

Hello @Rakshanda, I got your point o view. Better don't give them any chance to refuse my assessment.

So if I proceed with ACS: (RPL + Employment reference) only this is required from professional stuffs?

Or still need to upload my certifications, transcripts, post graduate, bachelor (Non IT) and etc?

I think if it is only RPL + Employment reference, Looks easy and I am good with that.

Thanks again,
Daniel.

Yes, actually if you have gone through a sample project report, you will get to know. It includes all the details of your employment too. Hence you do not need a separate employment reference what so ever.

Or still need to upload my certifications, transcripts, post graduate, bachelor (Non IT) and etc?
In education, you will be uploading all your certifications and educational transcripts.

Make sure, all the documents else RPL should be notarized by local notary public.
