Has anyone done the skill assessment for Data Scientist occupation? As per Sept 2019 news letter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has advised the new and emerging occupation of Data Scientist should use the code 22499 - Information and Organisation Professional NEC. When will this occupation be available for 189/190/491 nomination?

Latest update is this occupation is now with 2020 proposed changes.

Proposed with salary caveat of 90k. Does that mean its required to have a job offer of 90k?
Lets wait and see until March 2020.

Thanks for sharing Nish. Yes it does appear that they are asking for suggestions from some industry body. I am not sure but there seems to be noise on changing it to medium term skill shortage especially when statistician is on that list . I dont know what the caveat is. Have you applied or spoken to Vetassess yet regarding this skill ?

Not yet. It seems occupation is not yet updated on ANZSCO

So I have seen that they specified Data scientists commonly have a bachelor’s degree in statistics, math, computer science or economics. Data Scientists have a wide range of technical competencies including: statistics or machine learning, coding languages, databases and reporting technologies.....
Does that mean having masters degree is not applicable ??
I have Bachelors degree in Electronics and communication engineering
