Dear ,
please help me at this hard situation, I submitted my visa application and was surprised later there are some silly mistakes at my application like,
1- At question , Is family member (My wife) currently or have they ever been known by any other name?
I wrote No instead of Yes.Because her name changed after marriage but I forgot this point.

2- At question ,about my wife age under 18 ? It seemed that I ticked yes instead No!

3- At question , Has this applicant previously travelled to Australia or previously applied for a visa?
It appears blank ( even I'm sure I wrote NO !)
4- At question , Is this applicant claiming partner skills points?
It appears blank ( even I'm sure I wrote NO !)
5- At question , Has the applicant completed, or is currently enrolled in, any studies at secondary level or above?
I wrote yes, Is it correct because I finished my Bachelor degree only.
6- At question , Is the applicant claiming points for this employment? - For all my employments companies
It appears blank ( even I'm sure I wrote NO !)
Please Please advise me what should I do and how to rectify these stupid mistakes?

Number 5 is correct, bachelor is above secondary.

Number 3,4,6 seems like some system issue because I don't think you could leave them blank, as those questions should be mandatory.

You should ofcourse correct number 1 & 2, if you did those mistakes. They have dorect implications, i.e. if dependents is below 18, they don't require Form 80/1221 and free from English requirement.. and if you claim partner's skill point, you have to provide supporting documents.

I am little surprised thinking that, if you had chosen yes to partner's skill, you should have extra documents in your documents checklist.

Anyway, if CO is assigned, send an email to him to correct these (except 5), otherwise, get the email address from DIBP website and send an email citing you regerence number.

Thanks once again dear.
Firstly, some friends advised to fill form 1023 and rectify all mistakes in. Moreover , I'm sure those mistakes by system because I read each question carefully except no. 1
In the other hand, some said there's in IMMI account page option (update us) which include incorrect information, they said that I can edit the correct information instead of the wrong. Please which one is best I don't know.

Read this below

DIBP said:
You can edit your application in your ImmiAccount up until you submit it to the department for processing.

If you realise after you have submitted your application that you have made a mistake, you can complete a notification of incorrect answers online form from within ImmiAccount.
To access this online form, open your application in ImmiAccount by clicking on the Reference number of the application you want to update. This will open the application details page. From there, click on the ‘Update us’ link at left of screen, then click on the link titled: ‘Notification of incorrect answer(s)’ in the centre of screen. If you are unable to access this online form, please print out and complete Form 1023 – Notification of incorrect answer(s) (248KB PDF). You can then scan this form and attach it to your application in ImmiAccount.

On a side note, immediate before/after you submitted your application, a pdf is generated with all the answers, in my knowledge. If you have that pdf saved, you can confirm whether these were you mistakes, or something messed up with the system.

Please read the bold part inside quotation of my last post - you don't need Form 1023 if you can access that update us online form.

Some older applications (pre-Oct'14) does not have access to that online form, they need form 1023.

Hi guys! I have a similar problem.
My partner did not mention me as her de facto partner, because I am on my own visa and she thought it was not necessary. Now I want to change onto her visa and we were told to fill out form 1023 first. We cannot upload it, but were the hell do I sent this form to? I cannot find an email address nor a postal address. This is confusing. When we are done with that, do we have to reapply for a new visa, or can we somehow update the information? Its hard to find info for that and we are outside of Australia right now. Thank you!

If your partner is already grant a visa, you now have to submit a different partner migration visa which is a provisional visa convertible to a permanent reaidency visa in 2 years.

If your partner's visa is not granted yet, she can add you in her application as a secondary applicant by uploading form 1023 and other necessary documents through her immiAccount. In that scenario, you will receive a PR with your partner, if approved.

All based on the assumption that your partner applied for a PR visa.

If you have your name spelt properly in your visa application, just contact your CO/DIBP (or reply to your grant email) to have this corrected. You name should be same as the one mentioned in your passport.

Hi,
I have applied for Visa (subclass500) extension, I already submitted online application(few days back) with required documents. In the document GTE, I have provided all the details asked for but I didn't give reasons for extension & my previous visa details.
Now I can't change the uploaded document.
What action should I take against that incomplete document???

Use the "Update Us" button on your ImmiAccount to let them know you failed to provide information and take your time to tell them what's missing ASAP.

I married a person who was an refugee and his application was still pending decision. I knew he was a refugee before I got married. Then I had to apply for extension of my student visa but was told not to mention him in my application as this would jeopardise my student visa application.
Under the category of being married and or singles i ticked single. Our marriage has still not be been registered in the Australia marriage department but we have been living together for the past 7 months.
What happens to my student visa now? Do i inform the department of immigration about this error I committed intentionally?
What are the implications to my husband and my visa situation.
Please respond

My wife had a child when she was 18 for cultural reasons the whole family his it and her parents raises the child as their own. When my now wife applied for partner visa with me I did not know about the child not did she declare it... 7 years later I know all about him and see and talk all the time we want to apply for a child migration visa but I am scared they will cancel my wife's visa due to incorrect information...

Many years on

Hmm, it's a tricky situation. You have to explain and emphasize on the cultural thing, but I am not so optimistic about how DHA would react. You could argue you didn't know, but your wife is in no position to say she didn't know/forget. And that makes it an intentional false declaration which would be a serious issue.

In my opinion, the only way it could (a big could though) work is to convince DHA that your wife would suffer significant mental/social difficulties/repercussion/hardship had she revealed this information in the past and the situation has changed now (thus allows her to reveal the information).

Thank you for the response. Well she didn't want me to know and she was terrified of my reaction. She also never thought he would migrate here to Australia as her parents were looking after him... The reason we now want it is because her mother passed away a few years ago and her dad is starting to struggle alone.

We also have a young child between us now

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
