I finally got my 190 QLD invite last week (90 + 5 state points). I'm at Onshore. I've submitted my documents with fees and I'm waiting for the state nomination approval. Meanwhile, I have a query and really need your advice -

My EOI for the 190 was for 261313 Software Engineer as I got Skills assessment for it by ACS but the 482 TSS Short Term visa that I'm currently on has 263213 ICT Systems Test Engineer on it. My company's immigration team would only raise on that as my designation is Test Analyst. The blunder of raising under 263213 ICT Systems Test Engineer is now the whole problem because if they had at least raised under 261314 Software Tester, I would have had no issues. In my first company my designation was Sr. Software Engineer. I got Reference Letters from my current company and 1st company with good enough RnR to match that of software engineer. (The bullet points even match almost 90% with ANZSCO defined RnR for Software Engineer). I'm an automation tester who uses Java code. I have also developed utilities and tools in Java. I play a Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) role.

So this is very confusing and stressful at the moment. I've done some research on this forum and online that the first 4 digits of the ANZSCO code should match to be considered "closely related". This is not so in my case - 261313 and 263213. But if they can look past that, a couple of RnR for these 2 occupations match with some extra ones on 261313 which I have performed in real-time in my work.

Do you think I should go ahead and lodge my 190 with DHA if I get my state nomination approved by QLD? Or is it high risk (chance of Visa refusal by DHA CO)? If you think I can go ahead and if the CO questions this mismatch, what kind of response or evidence would result in success?

Any advice/experience on this from anyone you know would help! Thanks!
