How to Avoid CO Contact for Online PTE Score Reports (189/190)

Recently, there's been a lot of requests for online PTE score reports even in cases where the reports were already sent to DHA.

The waiting times for 189/190 visas are already quite long, so unnecessary CO contact should be avoided at all costs.

Immitracker shows there's been quite a few requests (see attachment)

The reason for this is, PTE launched a new score reporting website in 2019 that institutions can use to check score reports, and the way to lookup scores is with a new score report code. This score report code is only available if you download a new copy of your score report in PDF.
I went back and checked on my old score report, and it didn't have the score report code.

What I did was to download the new PDF report with the score report code, created a cover letter, and merged the 2 documents into 1 PDF. I included the following info in the cover letter:

- An explanation that this is the new PDF with score report code

- Included the score report code
- Included the Registration Id (which can also be used to lookup the report online)
- Mentioned the date my original report was sent to the Australian DHA on X date
- Mentioned that the new PDF report is attached to the 2nd page of the PDF

Hopefully this will help others to avoid unnecessary CO contact delays as a result of the new PTE score report code.

Thank you bro for the useful info but is it necessary to have a cover letter with the report? Because i guess new score report should be more than enough if that has all the info which CO require with the score code right?

No it's not necessary, but CO's have hundreds of cases to go through and a cover letter just explains why you have uploaded 2 copies of the same report.

To each their own, but personally I feel it's better to explain things properly. A misunderstanding or request for more info equates to another 2 or 3 month delay.

But what if we can only attach the new score report with the score report code as I am about the lodge my visa application so what do u advice? Should i only attache the new score report rather than the old one to avoid any delays.

This is more for people that have already lodged and uploaded PTE reports in the old format without the score report code included.

All new reports that are downloaded will have this score report code included, so if you're only lodging now or in the future, just upload the new PDF report as is without a cover letter.

At the time of lodging your visa, your spouse's PTE results must be less than 1 year old.
For primary applicants, PTE results must be less than 2 years old at time of visa lodgement.

This is only if the result is "Functional", if it is competent, it can be accepted for 2-3 years as well

See that's why I'm confused. The message is not consistent. There seems to be be differences between primary and secondary applicant, functional s competent, etc

It depends upon the result. If it is functional then 12 months requirement or else they accept for around 3 years. See the link

Thanks for the link. That makes more sense. My partner has superior English in his PTE. So I am assuming 3 years can be the time frame.

The requirement is your partner must prove functional english language capability if he/she is included on your application. Regardless of if your partner scored superior english on the functional test or not, the test must not be older than 1 year at time of lodgement.

However, if your partner also has a valid skills assessment, meets the requirement for the nominated application, and has competent english, you can claim 5 points.

For competed english, the results must be no older than 3 years at data of lodgement.

This is not true. Eng requirement are generic I believe as it is not mentioned separately specifically for spouse. My spouse had competent english with 2 year old result and got accepted without skill assessment
